Arrival to the Seewiese Altaussee

The Seewiese Altaussee can be reached by boat or after a nice stroll along the shore of the lake. Due to its special location the Seewiese cannot be reached by car.
Hiking
The beautiful walk starts in the center of Altaussee, where you can also find public parking facilities.
The path leads you - always next to the lake shore - directly to the Seewiese. The entire loop walk is about 7 kilometres long and is also well suited for baby baggies and wheelchairs.
Arrival by boat
The Seewiese can either be reached by a traditional Austrian wooden boat, called “Plätte”, or alternatively by a solar-powered boat.The solar-powered boat runs on a daily basis and in regular intervals, starting from the landing stage “Madlmaier”. The “Plätte” runs at weekends in fine weather and can also be booked in advance for private rides.
